Drug Task Force

The Flathead Tribal Police Department has four full time investigators assigned to investigate drug offenses that occur on and off of the Flathead Indian reservation. The four Tribal Investigators work closely with citizens, patrol officers, and the various other law enforcement agencies on and off of the Flathead Indian Reservation, assisting them in investigating crimes such as theft, fraud, burglary, sexual assaults, robbery, and homicides that are often tied to drug cases. The four investigators have specialized training in drug interdiction.

The two major drugs of concern affecting the quality of life on the Flathead Indian Reservation are methamphetamine and fentanyl. Both of these drugs are often trafficked onto the Flathead Indian Reservation directly from Mexico, using long established drug trafficking routes along the west coast. The drug investigators constantly endeavor to disrupt the supply of these drugs by targeting drug traffickers that bring these drugs onto the Flathead Indian Reservation.
