The Early Foundations Home Visiting Program is committed to supporting the development of happy, healthy and successful American Indian children and families on the Flathead Reservation through a coordinated home visiting strategy that empowers parents, while connecting families with other resources and services. Family participation is strictly voluntary.

What are the goals for the Early Foundations Tribal Home Visiting Program?

The goals for the Early Foundations Tribal Home Visiting Program are to: increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, improve parenting practices, increase children’s school readiness and school success, and promote healthy lifestyles.

How many Parent Educators are on staff?

We have four (4) Parent Educators on staff. Each Parent Educator can hold a case load up to sixteen (16) families.

How long can I be in the program for?

We provide services to families up to two (2) years.

I have a family in mind who might benefit from your program. Can I submit a referral for them?

Of course! Fill out our referral form and send it to the address on the referral form, or drop it off. We accept self-referrals, referrals from friends and family and professionals who might think families will benefit from the program.

What is the age limit to be in the program?

We provide services as early as prenatal and up to 5 years of age.

I have custody of a child. Are we eligible to be in the program?

Yes! As long as the child fits the eligibility requirements, the family is eligible for the program?

How many children in one (1) family can be enrolled in your program?

We serve one (1) target child. The family as a whole, is welcome to our Monthly Group Connections; along with our Quarterly Community Events.

Does your program cost money?

No. Our program is free of change and completely voluntary.

What curriculum does your program use?

The Early Foundations Tribal Home Visiting uses a researched based curriculum called Parents As Teachers, PATs for short.

What types of services do you provide?

The Early Foundations Tribal Home Visiting Program provides screenings for early detection of development delays and health issues, resource referrals and weekly home visits.
