THE LIHEAP FY-27 MODEL PLAN IS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING AND COMMENT IN THE LIHEAP OFFICE. COMMENTS CAN BE SUBMITTED IMMEDIATELY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MODEL PLAN BELOW OR CAN BE PRINTED, FILLED OUT & DROPPED OFF IN THE DHRD DROP BOX WHICH IS LOCATED OUTSIDE NEXT TO THE FRONT DOOR.

Eligibility
LIHEAP eligibility is based on household income, and the LIHEAP statute sets a minimum and maximum household income range. The statute defines a household as an: “individual or group of individuals who are living together as one economic unit for whom residential energy is customarily purchased in common or who make undesignated payments for energy in the form of rent….”
Important Dates
LIHEAP will begin accepting Winter applications on October 1st, and the program will run from November 1st through April 30th.
LIHEAP will begin accepting Cooling applications on May 1st, and the program will run from June 1st through August 31st.
Weatherization assistance provides up to $2,500 every five years, while Crisis assistance is available year-round with a maximum benefit of up to $1,000.
